I’ve been looking at getting a bike which will mostly be for family rides with 3 yo daughter onboard on a shotgun style seat. I may also use it to ride to work so I can park my van on site rather than my driveway. I’ll be using my works cycle scheme so the bike has to be bought from one of their retailers which rules out mos of the second hand market.
It would be mostly ridden on roads/bike paths with a few parkland gravel trails and canal toe paths so I figured a hybrid or gravel bike would be the best bet.
Two that I’ve seen locally are the pinnacle cerium flat bar hybrid and giant escape disc 2. I’ve put a link to the pinnacle in the post as people may be less familiar with the bike than the giant.
I can get the pinnacle for £449 from Evan’s or the Giant for £499 from a LBS.
The giant suits my eye more aesthetically but the pinnacle seems to be abit more versatile and may handle non road riding a little better.
Im open to any and all suggestions it doesn’t have to be one of these 2 but £500 is the hard limit for the bike. Any insight is much appreciated!
