I would go this route – send me a message if you want the GPX. I made it in [gpx.studio/app](http://gpx.studio/app) in which you can toggle marked cycleways on and off, which takes a lot of guess work out of routing. First you start along the Rhine: Emmerich to Spijk, Tolkamer, Pannerden, all along the Rhine-route. Then you cross the river to Huissen and proceed along the Limes-route, just south of Arnhem. Following the Limes, you cross the Rhine again by ferry this time, continue to Renkum, Wageningen and Rhenen. There you take the Let de Stigterpad (‘pad’ is path as in bike path). This route takes you through the forests of the national park De Utrechtse Heuvelrug up to Soesterberg, where you cross an old military airfield. Then you circumvent Hilversum (not much to see there) and continue through the lowlands just beyond the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, east of Amsterdam. Accept for the part from Emmerich to the Dutch border I’ve cycled basically every part of it, and I like it a lot.
