Hi all,

Looking to get my first bikepacking / gravel bike and I've had my eye on the Salsa Journeyer for a bit now – it looks like great value and pretty versatile.

My use case will be as an around-town bike, fitness on gravel roads / light trails, and to start to dip my toes into bikepacking (mostly weekend trips to a week-long at most for now). Most of my use will be for commuting to my office, which is a combination of pavement, logging roads, and some light singletrack (this is Southwest BC).

Also – which tire size for my use case will be best? 650b or 700c? It looks like the max tire size for either model is 56-58cc or so.

I think I'm leaning towards a flat bar model as my background is from mountain biking so I prefer a more upright stance and the stability that brings versus drop bars, but I could be convinced to go either way.
