I’m going away to college in a few months and am thinking of getting a bike for getting to places. I just want some suggestions. I unfortunately don’t know a lot about bikes, but I found a bike off FB marketplace for $80. It’s a Huffy. Here’s the description:
Sweet mid sized huffy with an awesome colorway, completely serviced and ready to be your new bike. Perfect for casual cruising around town and on the bike trail. You’ll rarely find one in such great condition, let alone in this state of tune. Everything functions as intended or better. I would surmise that one should be around 5’ to 5’6” to truly enjoy this bike. Great for beginners and children alike, possibly young adults.
All pics of the bike are on this. If I could get any advice, that’d be great.

Looks like a kids sized Walmart bike. Might last a year or so.
Lol that description is hilarious, “you’ll rarely find one in this condition!” As though it’s something special and sought-after.
It’s a Huffy, they are generally cheap throwaway bikes that might last a couple years before it entirely falls apart. I’d probably try to instead find a 90’s hybrid, which can often be found for about the same price and are much better quality, but may require servicing.
