Some pics I took last August.

Myself and two friends did the Erie Canal from Buffalo to Albany. Parked in Albany, took the Amtrak and biked back.

Definitely an interesting trip lol. After only having done the GAP and Pittsburgh-to-DC bikepacking, this was fs more rugged

Not the prettiest route either with a considerable amount of on road but got to see parts of NY that I would otherwise never go to probably. We also met some very interesting people, some of which were coming from the west coast

Night 1: Brockport – 77.9 miles. Brockport Welcome Center, super nice community spot with nice bathroom

Night 2: Rivers Crossing Campground near Tyre, NY. Kinda near Cayuga Lake but we never went that far south, bathrooms sucked. 78.62 miles

Night 3: Sylvan Beach. Super awesome camp ground and very nice lake. Bathrooms rocked. 74.61 miles.

Night 4: Fort Plain at lock E15. Porta-potty was great and vibes were nice. 72.65 miles.

Day 5: biked back to Albany, 76.32 miles.

  1. Did this last summer as well and agree on your points. Liked seeing the older canal portions and the countryside west of Syracuse was beautiful.
