the steel bike is 350usd converted from 450sgd
the polygon bike is 430usd converted from 550 sgd
i am unsure of which bike to go for but i do like the look of steel bikes and would primarily use this bike to commute so i do want to install a rear rack on the bike in the future as well. planning to BIFL

I’ll get some heat for this, but I would get the steel bike. The steel bike has proper mounting points for a bike rack. Rim brakes are easy to work on. The Shimano Altus groupset is easy to work on and cheap to maintain. Note that you’ll have to replace the wheels more often on the steel bike, because the rim brakes wear out the rims.
The steel bike will be cheap to maintain.
