Decided to splurge on some TRP RG957 brake calipers for my 2013 Cannondale Synapse 105, upgrading from Tektro R539.
Cost me 230 AUD / 160 USD on sale, though only in grey, which doesn't match the rest of the bike.
Apparently these are the best long drop brakes available. Equipped with carbon brake pads.
Will see how much of an improvement they are on my first ride tomorrow. Also need the bike shop to install new brake cables as they are frayed at the end and I have no ends to crimp on.
The old Tektros weren't bad, but I did once have the quick release mechanism open on me as I went down a hill, which was quite scary.
