I want to get from Campus Dr W to Cranburne Ln. I’m able to keep this trip mostly on side streets but there is no better crossing for this highway.
It’s probably going to be a ride carefully on the sidewalk situation but I wanted to ask exactly how others here would approach this one.
Here is the location. https://maps.app.goo.gl/QcTVnthv5hjuEyqU7?g\_st=ic

Sidewalk or start digging

I have to get across (under) a highway on my daily commute and I, reluctantly but also safely ride the sidewalk for about half a mile. It sucks, but it is better than the alternative.
from the map you listed, it seems like a straight shot on the sidewalks down Sheridan drive to campus drive N to campus dr W. I started on Frankhauser Rd and it’s less than a mile? doesn’t say elevation, but I see some pretty well laid out sidewalks, which is more than we have around here. I certainly wouldn’t try to cross the 290 like the arrows suggest?
I would recommend start going to City Council meetings, email your council members, etc. I bet your town/city has some sort of Strong Towns group you can get help from.
The Kuat 1upUSA Thule solution….
All the ways across the 290 could be better, this is a problem getting to NT as well. I would bite it and ride with traffic on harlem and sheridan. When you are ready, heads up and be decisive. An e bike would help here.
