Hi everyone,

I’m currently planning my route for a trip from Berlin through Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Finland to the North Cape. On the way back, I’d like to drive through Norway, across Sweden, and through Denmark back to Berlin. Unfortunately, I only have time – or rather, time off from work – in August and September.

  • What do you think of the basic structure of my route?
  • What should I definitely plan to include along the way (sights, great stretches of road, cabins to stay in, etc.)?
  • What other tips do you have (must-pack items, helpful apps, etc.)?

Thanks in advance – I’m looking forward to your answers and suggestions!

Good luck 😅 What kind of bike do you ride and how many days do you have planned?

  2. In Sweden, Norway and Finnland nearly every super market has toilets and tables to sit and drink/eat your own food and access to electricity. I made a 3400km trip like yours, but not so much north.

    Really cool.
North Cape is also on my to-do list starting in Belgium. How many days do you calculate for your tour?

There’s a good pizza joint in Tromsø called Casa Inferno.

Other than that, I got nothing. Looks like an awesome trip.

Is there a specific reason you’re going via Bodø but not visiting the Lofoten islands?

Also I personally liked Oslo – Germany via Sweden and Zealand more than via mainland Denmark.

If you want, I can share the routes I’ve ridden on that stretch (I’ve done Luxembourg – Geiranger and back and Hamburg – Oslo)

I would ride the coast in finland time permitting, longer yeah but much more pleasant views.

Edit: Also if you choose the coastal route there is fantastic possibility to add the archipelago trail in turku area that is amazing! Only extra 250km heh.

  7. I have a similar route planned for this summer as well. If you want to save some time off your route, you can take the ferry from Germany to Lithuania, as i don’t think Poland is that interesting to ride (compared to the rest of the trip). Same for the part in Sweden, there is a ferry going from Hirtshals to Larvik, as you want!

Norway will be the best landscapes by far, so try to not rush there, as you might regret later. The north of Finland is definitly the most boring part with lots of big forests and nothing to see.

Some people told me the **Mjolkevegen in Norway** is some of the best bikepacking/gravel route in Europe, so definitely a must see. Check [cyclenorway.com](http://cyclenorway.com) for more informations on Norway bike path, it’s a really great ressource.

And I guess, we will probably cross path without knowing. I have [an instagram](http://instagram.com/hugo.fait.du.velo) if you want to check my adventure.
