After you unthread the valve stem it sometimes stays stuck closed and you have to push it down manually to loosen it up. That one looks stuck

My pump has two holes. One for a presta valve like yours and one for schrader. The pump operates normally for the schrader valve hole, flip the toggle in the back to lock it on. When I wish to use the presta valve hole I have to flip the toggle on the back in the opposite direction before using. Then, when I flip the toggle after connecting, the air comes through the proper (presta) hole

Did you clamp it down?

You didn’t push it on far enough.

I had similar problems with a double head pump, try to rotate the wheel so the valve points down. Also check the pump itself, does air come out of both holes when you cover one up with your finger?

There is a small rubber ball in the pump that closes off the unused hole. It should shift after pumping hard a few times, but they sometimes get stuck.
Also, press the valve stem to loosen it in the valve.
