I've finished building up my early 1980s KETTLER Alpha SM equipped with a Shimano 600 AX. Except for the Seatpost, Stem, Headset and Handlebar everything is 600 AX spec. Some may call this an ugly duck, but I love this underdog bicycles which otherwise get no love. It rides just fine and looks nice. Of course it is not comparable to an Italian classic, but who would dare to compare a Volkswagen against a Ferrari? This bike just gets the job done and that's it. It was one of the first mass produced Aluminium frames. Need to get accustomed to cage pedals. Got myself already shoes with slotted cleats. Waiting for good weather for the first longer ride!
