Caught off guard by a late season snowstorm in the Appenines on the Italy Divide

Had to leave the plowed road I was on to avoid a tunnel that bikes aren't allowed through, ended up pushing the bike through three miles of fresh snow. Luckily the bike kind of floated, but the postholing was brutal, and I had giardia. Be careful about the public water fountains in small towns in Italy, they'll get ya good.
