so after being frustrated that the fenders for the "old" Grizl were never available in the US, I decided to have a go at mounting an old pair of Velo Orange fenders. it ended up being relatively easy to get them to fit.
since the mount for the fenders are on the seat stays and not in a traditional spot, i needed a longer fender stay than i had – i emailed VO and they had some longer ones in stock for the fender width i had that i was able to purchase. other than that, only other thing i had to do was drill two holes in the top of the fender and use some extra fender stay nuts + the original shorter fender stay on the top since there's no bridge to support the fender on.
feels sturdy and looks better than the official Canyon ones too, in my opinion.
