After months and months, I finally finished my Primos Dame build! This is my first ever fully new build, and I'm so stoked with how it turned out! Prior to this, my newest bike was from 1993, and standards have changed a LOT since then. Such a great learning experience.

Matched it up with a Surly Dinner Fork on the front to help with packing for trips. This is such a beautiful fork, love the color!

Mostly everything in the cockpit is Velo Orange. Curvy bar, stem, spacers, Grand Cru short throw brake levers, Zeppelin fenders, and I even managed to score one of their old leather saddles and a seatpost on FB Marketplace!

Drivetrain wise, it's the Shimano Deore M5100 line with a few modifications:

Swapped out the 30t front for a 42t. Rear is the 11-51t cassette.

Stripped the paint and polished up the crank arms.

Brake calipers are the State Bicycle cable actuated hydraulic calipers. They looked like a neat tech, and I love that I could still use fun colored brake housings for them!

Tires are Panaracer Gravelking SK 2025 in Cranberry and brown! When I saw these tires, I knew they had to go on this build!

Now to build a set of racks and sew up a frame back for it 🙂

I’ve heard mixed reviews about mecha-hydro brakes in general, how have the State ones been?

Either you live under the sea, or this is used to power some candy making machine in Wonka’s factory. (Wonderful bike)
