I am looking into purchasing a bike and have been looking around Facebook Marketplace and stumbled upon this bike. I don’t know really much about road bikes. I was wondering if this is a good bike for a beginner? The seller has it listed for $1000 (it was cut down from $1200), is that a good deal? I don’t know what year the bike is nor what to ask him about the bike. Any advice helps.

  1. Rim brake frame with 105 and rim brakes. Its a good bike but you shouldn’t pay more than ~$350 usd for it.

Also, if the first picture is of the NDS then the seller likely doesn’t know much about bikes and is selling it based on a number some website told them. It will probably be difficult to convince them to sell this bike for what it is actually worth.

  2. Don’t know what model that is, but I have 2013 BMC Gran Fondo with 105 and I paid $1200 new.

It’s a good bike, not a good deal, as others had said it’s price should a lot less (depends of the country)

  4. 1000 is too much, but the comments saying 350 are absurdly low – yes it’s a rim brake groupset, but still a nice bike with a power meter on it.

    6-700 is probably fair.

Damn that’s clean. I despe wanted this when it came out

Sad thing is, it’s old kit.

For reference I just sold a full carbon, carbon wheel dura ace bike for 650

    This is a 500 bike.

It’s not modern, it’s not desirable and it wasn’t top spec on release

1000$ is still a bit high. It has a carbon (the lowest grade BMC offered tho) frame and a powermeter, based on this single photo the bike looks in really good condition. Imo a really nice bike to get into cycling. Worth 550-700$ depending where you live

It’s a slr03 ONE from 2018 if you want to get more infos on the bike

It yours all opinion, if you were looking into getting a bike for the first time, would you buy if the seller would go down to $500 or would you pass and look for something more modern?
