Colnago was founded in 1954 by Ernesto Colnago in Cambiago, starting as a small workshop building precision steel racing frames.
By the 1960s, Colnago was already working with pro teams and helped push innovation in racing bikes—introducing lighter frames and new construction methods. The brand gained global recognition through partnerships with legends like Eddy Merckx, whose victories helped cement Colnago’s reputation at the highest level of the sport.
Through the ’80s and ’90s, Colnago continued leading innovation—experimenting with carbon fiber and creating iconic models like the Master and C40, one of the first carbon frames to win Paris–Roubaix.
Today, Colnago remains a symbol of Italian craftsmanship, blending tradition with cutting-edge performance.
