$350 for a specialized rockhopper elite 29.

Based on the pictures from marketplace, I can’t tell if there’s something wrong with the derailleur. Even if there are issues, is this still a good deal?

Yeah looks like pretty good deal for a like new $1150 bike. Has hydraulic brakes and an air fork if it’s the elite which are both good things. Nothing jumps out as derailed being messed up but even if it doesn’t shift perfectly that’s an easy fix. Not bad at all for a beginner and about as good as $350 will get imo.

    Best all-encompassing answer: it depends.

Pics can only offer clues as to what may be wrong. No amount of pics can “prove” everything is in top condition. It’s a fair-enough asking price, but not a steal of a deal, even in the very best condition. I’m not sure what the seller is intending to show with the derailleur pic where the bike is upside down.

Best advice, if you’re really that interested – go check it out. Does the size fit you? Does it shift without a bunch of noise? Does it appear hardly ridden? If the answer to all of those is yes, it’s a fair price. If you won’t be able to answer those questions on your own – going to look at it may be a waste of time. Used bikes have a particularly low resale value right now.

The chain appears clean, wheels still have reflectors, and tires show little wear. My best guess is that it’s not seen much use.
