For years I’ve used the standard 2 x rubber band garmin mount on the bars, I’d really like to get my edge 830 positioned over the (short) stem on my mtb because I have a few Bikepacking events planned over the summer where I expect to be carrying the bike a bit and knocking it out of place or even off the bars seems likely where it is. I know k-edge make nice mounts and the garmin mtb mount looks like it does the job, but isn’t particularly elegant. I’d like something low profile like the k-edge mount, but I don’t really want to spend £40 on what is essentially a small piece of plastic. Any recommendations?? Pics for context.

You can get cheap stem cap ones.
There’s reliable, inexpensive ones on Amazon.
Not sure if you have access to a 3D printer but I literally just designed a piece for my bike to do this. I’ll see if I can get the STL uploaded to share.
It’s for my gravel bike and zip ties to the stem. Wouldn’t work for the short stem on the first pic but would be fine on the third pic.
I use these exact kinds of mounts (both the stem cap kind and the handlebar kind as pictured) and even have a bunch of adhesive backed pads compatible with them that I put on my phones cases and other (lightweight) things that I want to mount, except I paid less than $10 on amazon for them.
AliExpress all the way for such stuff.
