I spend my first few days in Germany discussing the food, swimming, and visiting historic towns like Schleswig, Plon, and Lübeck in the northern state of Schleswig-Holstein. I visit a fair celebrating the region’s Viking heritage, sample some local mead, and film a battle. I sleep in a random field then decide to try out some trendy German capsule hotels.
