    C’était le premier moment fort de cette saison 2026, le premier monument de l’année a rendu son verdict. Attendu comme un mano-à-mano entre Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates XRG) et Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Premier Tech), Milan-San Remo a finalement encore une fois été un duel à trois puisque Tom Pidcock est venu s’immiscer dans les débats. Malgré une chute à l’approche de la Cipressa, Pogacar est parvenu à attaquer et à s’isoler avec le Néerlandais et le Britannique. Mais dans le Poggio, le Slovène a lâché Van der Poel, laissant seul le Britannique accompagner le champion du monde. Aucun des deux n’a fait de différences dans l’ascension, c’est donc un sprint qui a désigné le vainqueur et, après plusieurs années sans réussite, c’est bien le Slovène qui s’est imposé.

      Kudos to Tom Pidcock. Pogi is UNREAL, but Tom made a real fight of it. If even Mvdp can't follow you up a not-very-hard climb, then you know Pogacar was going crazy fast up that one.

      If there’s a better race this year, we are in for some treat. Pocagar’s crash made for the most exciting race in a long while. He’s going to be targeting Roubaix, maybe next year.

      I am a cycling fan since I am 5 years old, that's 45 years now of watching the sport and you can all crucify me for saying this, but I don't believe the sport is any cleaner now than it was in the past. These guys are breaking, no blowing away, all the climbing records of the epo generation…And all the reasons why that is possible just don't make any sense.
      Gene doping autoblood transfusions or something else we can't even think about yet.
      I stepped away as a teenager in 1993 from my bike because I didn't want to race against mutants. I feel for the teenagers of today that want to do it clean, they just don't stand a chance…
