Hi guys,
Was wondering if you could help me as I’m in the position of not knowing what I don’t know.
I’ve heard this is a good entry level bike and it looks okay to me in terms of the frame and gears but that’s my novice eye looking at the photos.
I was wondering if you could see something I can’t because you’re more experienced?
I’m 6 foot 1 and looking to get into cycling and standard distance triathlons and don’t think a purely tri bike or high spec bike is something I need right now as I am the limiting factor not the extra 10% those amazing machines offer.
I sort of just want something that will allow me to get into the sport and be a good 1-3 year purchase if that makes sense?
Thank you!
Price: £500 (I know it says dollars but that’s not an unusual thing here in the uk)
Sellers description:

Looks like a good price for the bike to me tbh. I have a 2024 allez sport and really like it. For starting out in the sport its been a really solid bike.
£500 is a lot of money to be spending on your first bike, personally.
Do you mean “entry level racing bike”? If you already know you like biking and are looking to get into racing, it’s a great deal yeah, but you don’t need all the bells and whistles for your first bike. If you’re just starting with bikes, I’d really suggest going to a local bike shop with like $200 budgeted and looking for something that’s old and reliable.
If you know you want to get into racing and that you already enjoy biking, then yeah that price is legit, and there’s nothing apparently wrong with the bike from what I see. I’d suggest going in person and making sure the frame is intact, that it fits you, and that there’s nothing wrong with the wheels either.
That’s actually the 2026 Specialized Allez. I guess the buyer got it in 2025 but it’s the 2026 model. I’m pretty sure that’s the case but someone correct me if I’m wrong.
It’s a good bike with CUES groupset. It has hydraulic brakes, which is a big plus. There are bikes that are much more expensive that still come with mechanical brakes.
I think for the price this is a very good deal. The seller can transfer you the warranty for the frame and fork and it would be valid for 2 years.
