Item: KS Lev Si Dropper Post.
When my dropper post stopped working I pulled out up to find the cable attachment broken in one side which allows the cable to come loose. LBS opinion that it's not repairable (they haven't seen it or photos), but parts of mechanism are held in by hex screws. Is repair option viable, and how do you know? TIA

That bike shop is incompetent. It is a very simple repair. Just need to replace the little silver lever/claw.

There are a couple different ones so just make sure you get the one to match your dropper
