I think Sidis are just good shoes period. That's why people keep wearing them until they fall apart. You get the feel that Sidi was a shoemaker first and bicycle/motorcycle shoe maker later. Whereas Shimano shoes feel like they are shoes made by groupset engineers.
I loved my Nike shoes….long ago….now in Shimano RC7s…..
Lake is my favorite, the only shoe that fits my 4E wide foot
Agreed with the prior generation Giro empire. I’ve been riding Shimano for many years and will be trying the new 2026 Giro empire. The top material looks better and more stable
We cant buy Lake shoes in NZ!
Lakes are amazing but my last pair the dog ate one
Lake 242's.
There was a rep doing shoe fits and I already had a pair of 238's which were 95% great, but my bike fitter told me he wanted me to wear wider ones.
The rep pointed me to the 242 which hadn't launched back then, but told me I did indeed have very difficult feet.
The 242's fit about 99% great, so I'm a happy camper.
What shoe is good for hammer toes the shimano rc wide is good for me in the toe box but everywhere else it’s a bit big. The regular width it’s tight and the knuckles of my toes are really rubbing the top of the shoe
Near the end when you asked "you see where Im going here?"
No!
I would suggest you review your own video and try again in 2026.
You come off as an arrogant piss.
When it's obvious you're too young to have spent anytime in all of the shoes that you've bashed.
There are hundreds of foot Dr.s in this world. You are not one of them. But even if you were…. you would be the equivalent of a single grain of sand in a pint glass full of beach sand.
You may be right about some things but, I'd argue you're wrong on most.
Maybe you are right about one thing.
Sidi shoes last a long time.😂
I have a wide foot and hammertoes, so I’m always looking for a shoe with a wide , but especially a tall, toe box. I finally bit the bullet and sprung for a pair of Lake MX242, which have individual bands of leather rather than one solid upper, so can conform around my knobbly feet. They’re really comfortable, but much more expensive than any other cycling shoe I’ve ever bought, and god-awfully heavy.
I did few utra races in Spec shoes, no prob at all 🙂
Vent version was fantastic for the summer
Just ordered some Crono CR1 and if someone's interested, I could share my thoughts (apart from them having such a awesome look).
Love the speedy
I’m stuck with wide high arch feet that suplinate. This is not fun as like my only choice is a pair of lakes which is expensive
I've been wearing barefoot shoes for too long and now all cycling shoes are RIDICULOUSLY pointy in the toe area. What are good options for shoes that are actually shaped like a foot?
I don't want my small toe squished.
What about van rysel?
Effing Sidi shoes I nearly destroyed my Pinarello with those. Their cleat is so far forward when I unclipped and drop my foot to the ground on a slight incline I slipped and slid down to the ground almost dropping smashing the bike to ground luckily I caught it to crash on top of me. Never again buying Sidi trash. My foot should have landed mid sole but because the cleats are far forward there was nothing underneath me when I touched the ground.
We need new updated video
Would Echo PureCarry bike shoes be a good choice for me because I have wide feet?
I recently bought some Lake CX239s and they're fantastic! Tried some S-Works on in the shop and they felt awful, makes sense after watching this.
pls review the rockbros shoes
So James did you find that many riders had knee pain from the integrated forefoot Varus? They suggest that most of us need it!
I like the Mavic cleat fore/aft setting since in my case many brands have the cleats too far back. I have my metatarsal joint typically about 12-14mm over the pedal axiis.
Ditched my sworks shoes….best decision. Was causing left leg issues and power imbalance…avoid
