The hubs on my fixed gear were loose threaded so I went to a trusted bike shop to see if they have any hubs for my fixed gear. (They didn't) The guy instead offered me this Trispoke for 3900 PhP (Philippine peso)
Trispoke:
• Has already bolted 17t
• Alloy
• No damage or a scratch at sight.
• Bolted instead of using a lock ring
The reason why he offered me the trispoke was he doesn't have any other hubs for my fixed gear, He also said the components for it might be expensive (hubs, sprocket/cog, etc..)
Should I buy the Trispoke or order the components?

Buying the trispoke for ₱3900 is expensive and pretty much overpriced. Unless its from a decent local brand or you want that specific look.
My take? Buy hubs online (from shopee) and have your wheel rebuilt. Hubs will set you back around ₱350 and a rear wheel rebuild (assuming you keep the spokes) will set you back ₱300 or ₱200 a wheel.
Sure it will take some time to repair and wait for the parts to come, but its way better to spend ₱1000 on a brand new hub vs ₱3900 on a rear second hand wheel.Â
Edit:
Building and buying components for an entirely new rear wheel is actually way cheaper than buying his trispoke wheel.Â
– Hubs: ₱350
– Spokes: ₱250 (32 pcs)
– Rim: ₱500-1000 (depending on the type)
– Labor for the rebuild: ₱300-200) (Depending on the bike shop)
– Cog and Lockring: ₱100
Total: ₱1400-₱2000 (new) vs ₱3900 (used)
I totally think he’s just trying to sell you his used part (and at an expensive price locally)
