Cannock Chase never disappoints… but today we went looking for the lines you won’t find on the trail map.
Instead of sticking to the official routes, we headed deep into the woods to ride some proper off-piste MTB – steep chutes, hidden singletrack, loose corners and sketchy root sections that can catch you out fast.
Some of these lines are fast, some are tight, and a few are seriously high-consequence if things go wrong. Exactly the kind of riding that keeps mountain biking exciting.
If you ride Cannock you’ll know the official trails are great, but the real fun often starts once you leave the main trail and explore the woods a bit.
Expect raw riding, close calls, and some proper fun laps through the trees.

Cracking day with grandad up Cannock. A tad wet on the ground which I wasn't expecting to be hoenst but hey ho. Lens mod in full flow now and loving the angle and hope you guys are too. Not been up that side of the chase for ages, looking good there.
Great vid mate, conditions look like they are slowly improving.
Hopefully good weather this week will help, so may pop down at the weekend. We normally ride the other side of Penkridge Road.
mate i have yet to start trail rides on a pedal power MTB and it looks fantastic but im not sure how long i will survive before im eating a tree that refuses to get out the way .
with all the different beams of light shining through the trees and jumps and stumps poking up from the ground
i for sure will be studying my routes over and over before the brakes get a vacation.
my 11 year old boy wants to get into this and at 61 i should know better But i cant say NOoooooooooooooooooooo
who knows i may enjoy it
