Can we just not be snobbish? Not every build needs Omniums, Phils, Chris Kings, Thomson etc
I am perfectly fine with my cheap ass Miche Pistard wheelset, Nitto stem, no name handlebars, Sugino Zen crank etc. It might not be Terry B material but it works for me 🤷
In my opinion, fixed gear bikes are so dead simple that the complexity of setups on geared bikes inversely leads fixie build to botique premium parts since there’s truly less mechanical options.

The thing is, this sub is only for flashing your builds. Mech tips, think pieces, questions etc will be deleted by mods. So naturally the snobs are roaming freely.
Most people who post here build their super expensive bikes solely to impress friends and strangers on the internet – not to use them on a daily basis.

Agreed, a clean build with the highest end components isn’t worth anything compared to a bike that has seen a lifetime of riding.

Yeah, this is a whole thing across Reddit as a whole – it’s basically just rich people flexing their jewellery, be it bikes, bike clothes, guitar pedals, synthesisers, mechanical keyboards. It’s just folks showing off how many thousand pounds they have to spend.
What’s shit is that these hobbies are about fitness, sport, art, music, (and typing?) and instead they’re marketed as purchasing shiny stuff with names engraved into it.Â
I think we should start dunking on folks if their stuff ain’t dirty.Â
