Hey !

Just came back from a 3 days trip along the French Riviera coast from Toulon to San Remo. The itinerary is a little bit hilly but the views are totally worth it !

For more details about the route :

– Day 1 : Toulon – Fréjus (120km)

– Day 2 : Fréjus – Nice (85km) throught the Estérel mountains

– Day 3 : Nice – San Remo (90km)

Hope that can give you some ideas for your next trip !

Would love to hear your impressions of riding in this region. How much interaction with traffic, and how were those interactions? How much climbing was involved and how are the gradients?

I’ve done a good bit of bike touring in Europe (~5000 km worth), but in this case my main reason for asking is because I’m interested in the area for retirement. I’m a Clydesdale, so not looking to do, say, the Col de Madone. I love rolling hills, though. One of my favorite rides I’ve done in Europe was up and down along the Costa Brava near Tossa de Mar, and would love something along those lines.

Wow, I saw the first pic and thought you were somewhere in the American Southwest or Mexico! Gorgeous!

  3. Looks lovely, thanks for the inspiration! How did you get there and back? Trains, planes, automobiles, etc?

  4. Nice shots! Are you from France or how did you get there with your bike in the first place?

Am from Germany and got like 1,5 weeks to cycle till April but getting down so far doesn’t seem reasonable by train.

May i ask if you think currently it’s fine to cycle bretagne/normandy in march? heard camping grounds are also closed still but maybe you know more 🙂
