I’m a 5’2 female and I need help deciding which bike to buy! I’m looking to spend as little as possible for a reliable ride along bike paths (mainly short rides). The women’s trek would be my preference but it’s a 17.5” frame so I’m not sure. Please help!

  1. Not the Trek 3500. It’s been left outside, neglected and it’s rusted. I doubt the suspension or gears work properly and they probably only changed the tyres because the previous ones had degraded from age/weather/ not being ridden.

    No way.

I’d get the first Trek if I had to pick.. price seems alright if it’s all in good working order, though $150 seems more reasonable. Though if you don’t fit you don’t fit. You could replace the stem for a shorter one so the bars are closer, but that’s time and money.

I wouldn’t get the Giant because road bikes are not the best for casual commuting. Skinny tyres more prone to puncture & drop bars are more likely to give you back/neck discomfort and more difficult to brake and change gears.
