Anything I should keep in mind moving forward, I don't want to stop riding or have fear set in from this I've been having do much fun and honestly use riding to destress and a form of therapy.
I would love to hear how others experience and how they have worked though their injurys after a bad crash.
Also shout-out to Troy Lee designs for their helmets this one worked amazingly

    1. It’s very very definitely New Helmet Day 😁

    2. When you get back on the bike, take it easy. You don’t have to do that trail, or hit that feature, this week. Or next week. Or the week after. Rebuild confidence, focus on having fun and enjoying yourself. You’ll bounce back in time – might be a few days or a few weeks, or maybe even longer, but you’ll get there.

After a bad head vs tree crash, my neck was sore for weeks. It took about two weeks before I could move comfortably, and four weeks before I could get back on the bike. It took about a year before I regained my full range of motion.

The trail I had the accident on was a simple green one. I rode it carefully for a few months. Now I don’t think about it at all, it’s just another trail (still tho, fuck *that tree* in particular)

  2. You probably already know this, but replace the helmet.  Stay of the bike for a few days as you probably have a concussion.

Other than that just ride within your ability and accept this sport will never be zero risk.

Depending on the brand (i know you said TLD) and place some companies have a crash warranty/policy.

When I had a big stack Fox sorted me out with 50% off my next helmet after I reached out and said thanks for saving my face.

Might be worth reaching and having a suss.

  4. I’m glad you’re ok, friend.

Wait til you feel ready to ride again and work up to it. Take it easy and don’t beat yourself up for going easy/ doing less than usual.

Sometimes it’s ok to take a step back to get a running start forward.

are you okay? is the bike okay? keep the helmet as a trophy. You should not rush to get back on the bike when recovering, take it slow.
