Just searching quickly but it appears the rear triangle is alloy on this frame. Still not great but not a carbon repair issue at least.

  2. Is is possible to ride a cracked carbon frame? Generally yes. Smart? Generally no. It can be repaired but it will be very expensive to do it correctly.

Edit: you sure that’s a carbon frame? Looks pretty aluminum

  3. The repair woulld have been easier if it was carbon the whole tube need to be replaced it’s not really worth it

  4. Both aluminium & carbon can be repaired but that’s where the good news ends i’m afraid.

If it is aluminium the cost of the specialist heat treatment and repainting that would be needed after a repair is often significantly more expensive than it would be to replace the frame, This is why aluminium frames are turned into scrap metal from damage that wouldn’t need repair at all on steel frames.

Carbon on the other hand is a really forgiving material to work with and there is very little that can’t be repaired but because it is a more specialised material to work with properly sometimes repairs fall into the more expensive to repair than replace category.

It’s an alloy frame; just keep riding it like that. Don’t switch chainring sizes.
