Short update with drone footage of Dobbies loan, Cowcaddens road and Connecting Yorkhill and Kelvingrove. Talk a little about these projects and cycle on some of the completed sections. Hope you enjoy.
Ooh it's good! Have been going up Sauchihall st instead until work is done. Hired the Carla cargo trailer from Bike for Good a lot recently. 11 min journeys into town from our HQ. Maybe Dales will get a Ramp? A bike shop with Stairs!!
Looking good 😍 Will you be making a video about the M8 Woodside viaducts? I think the oppurtunity to remove the M8 is huge, but atm I thunk Transport Scotland will reject the option by default. Would love to see an M8 benanza to hopefully change some minds!
I've been using the bit on that wee hill you went up at the end, it's good to remember how busy it can get on those streets, during summer sessions at Kelvin Grove band stand and events at swg3 it's nose to tail traffic here, hopefully this won't be parked on as a matter of routine at these times. The transition to the national cycle route looks good, although slightly worried it could become a car park at times, hopefully I am worrying about nothing, may well be ok in practice🤞.
The snp think ppl are gona cycle ther bikes and go into next and buy a lamp. These clowns have ended. And a mean endend the citey center of glasgow to promote a we geek to use his bike. My god my country is done now.
The utter destruction of Glasgow roadways for the sake of a few cyclists ,failing to maintain the roadways at the cost to the motorist paying for it all through our taxes!!!Cycled most of my life and never felt the need for a special road just for me utter lunacy by lunatics I`m afraid?!
The disruption caused and cost of these cycle paths is a scandal. All for the one in a thousand people who travel by bike. It’s disgraceful. And guess who isn’t paying? That’s right, the people in bikes wouldn’t dream of paying any sort of road tax. Glasgow roads are the worst for potholes in the UK.
I'm really considering cycling from central to work in Maryhill. these videos do really help no one else shows this stuff, you do a good service. only thing stopping me is the hassle of having my bike on scotrail train to Glasgow, Can you get to cowcaddens from central without using roads?
Your commitment to videoing, editing, information updates and progress on the infrastructure upgrades in and around Glasgow is first class. And all in your own time ! The passion you have is amazing . 👏👏👏👏👏
It seams to me that cycle paths just aren't wide enough. In places where cycling has taken off the cycleways are just solid in the rush-hour. But wow linking up to the national cycle is it N1 route and that takes you to the European Euro Vello network. They are even setting up an informal e-bike charging network. Campsites have e-bike chargers and pubs bars and restaurants allow charging usually for free if you use the services.
Glasgow is a disaster and a disappointment for everyone! A few cycle lanes and loads of road closures for absolute nothing! When are people going to realise we are not the Netherlands? Over there is mostly cyclists in the city centre, over here is mostly cars, we don’t even have the right weather for cycling most of the time! This has nothing to do with making cycling better, it’s all about the 15 minute cities in the making. Wake up people!
And how is this going to help the Glasgow City economy? Pandering to a minority for no purpose other than ideology. Glasgow street cleaning is now a disgrace. The once magnificent Parks Department is now a shadow. I’ve seen rats run across the footpaths in Kelvingrove park on a busy day. Yet Glasgow CC chooses to waste 100’s of millions on this virtue signalling nonsense.
Love the drone shot of the route from 03:44:00. It really helps to understand the route as it goes through the city. The new cycle lanes aren't perfect but as more of a network starts to form it will definitely help to get more people cycling for everyday journeys.

You need to get local bike shops to start sponsoring these videos. Charge Dale's for that promotion.
Great work keeping us up to date!
Cheers from Amsterdam! A big improvement compared to when I last cycled in and around Glasgow in 2007. Enjoy the new infrastucture!

The cycle path near dales will also link up with the new sighthill bridge over the move

Hopefully cyclist's use the road and purpose built cycle routes instead of Pavements !!!!
What an absolute waste of money the Pollok area of Glasgow has something similar and cyclists use the pavements
Not long before it falls into disrepair like everything Glasgow does no maintenance
I love arguing with motor heads on fb for those cycle lines. Recently the head of Glasgow taxis got involved in the matter.
Who cares
This pish has ruind my city. Muppets running our country.

Looks great! Newcastle could do with infrastructure like this
More money wasted for something no cyclist will use

I'm very very glad they've not put any of that nonsense on those benches
