It’s kind of funny that modern Bicycles that were actually at all effective barely predated Cars. It would almost feel like it was a bit a waste of pre industrial revelation type engineering considering it would only be used for short trips from the start and Cars were already the superior way to transport people. It would have technically been possible to easily build a bike even a century before with the materials they had. The concept just hadn’t been invented.
