Riding a Canyon Aeroad for the last couple of years and having a Canyon Endurace as a second bike, I recently swapped the latter for a Ridley ASTR RS. And man, as much as I still love my Aeroad, the ASTR is a blast to ride! Still sporty as it is, it's so much fun to carve through the forest and fly over the cobbles en gravel with so much comfort. I like to compare the Aeroad with a Porsche 911; reasonably comfortable for an aero-bike, but so fast… Well, I guess the ASTR is something like the Dakar-version then… Lucky me ;-). BTW; stil in transition from a Shimano GRX 2by (RX 825) to a 1by (RX 827). Now running an 11-36T cassette, but wil swap that for an 10-45T soon.

  1. If I’m not mistaken, the ASTR is their race gravel. They also have the Kanzo series, which is their more adventure focused gravel bikes.

Doesn’t stop me from riding more on asphalt than gravel 🤪
