  1. Right-hooked in the traffic circle less than 0:15 in. Incredible start! And they want to export this rubbish to all of N. America. Now try to imagine that you were cycling at a pace sufficient to get somewhere in a sprawling N. American city, where a typical journey might be 20 km or more … (you'd probably be dead …)

  3. If this type of street layout were proposed here in the UK, people would be furious with it, and claim that life would be miserable for those living on the street, and that it would be impossible for them to drive out of their garages or driveways whilst simultaneously being incredibly dangerous for anyone daring to walk or cycle past the garages.
It really demonstrates the different mindsets of the two countries.

  4. Funny to see this video! It just crossed while being on youtube. I ride this road every day. In the mornings on the german side, in the evening – after a days job – on the dutch side. I noticed on the german time there is more "Schmutz", the bicycle road on the dutch side is more bumpy (because of the roots of the trees) The road is about 2.2 km long. On the dutch side there has been a big coal mine (Dominiale mijn) and on the german side there was an oval for cycle races. That oval was famous in whole Europe!. It was destructed before the second world was. Well that's what I know about this street!

  5. So good bicycle infrastructure does spread in to Germany as people see how nice the next town over is and want that in their town too.
Also am I the only one who thinks its weird to run an international border down a city street?
