I can just imagine the owner of the gold bike being some overweight late middle aged investment banker bringing it into a shop to ask how you can add a secret motor to it so he can keep up with the boys.

I had a Champagne chrome road bike. I also chrome plated a road where I worked. It was cheaper than painting and looked sweet in sun lite and night lights.
