Hi everyone. Just noticed these dark colored marking on the stanchion of my shock. No crashes or other irregular things that I can think of. What is this? How can I prevent this if its harmful? Thanks in advance!
The coating is sometimes irregular from the factory but as the other comment states be sure you do keep up with the servicing of the shock
Small service is literally just: measure air pressure in shock, remove shock from bike(2 bolts), let air out slowly, use fox id code to buy the right seals, swap them while not causing any scratches (not using metal picks helps), fill in a small amount of oil the service kit includes (also in the service manual), refill with air until you reach the psi you wrote down or go with sag of ~25 %
