It’s hard to find another bicycle route with so much bucolic scenery, with so many quaint and interesting towns, and with such relaxing riding. It’s no wonder that the Mosel Valley is one of the most popular bike touring destinations in the entire world. In this episode we leave Trier and head northeast, serpentining along with the river, through tourist towns like Bernkastel-Kues and Cochem, but its the smaller villages that get our attention. And the vineyards! Vineyards for days. Take a look at what a perfect bicycle tour is all about!.

If you’re interested in checking out our planned route across Europe, we’ve included a link below. Bear in mind that we took deviations from time to time which might not be shown here, but this is 99% accurate!

  1. Nice video 👍. As an European, it is allways interesting to see/hear how non-Europeans (mostly Americans, Canadians) look to Europe and the cycle routes. Including the comments. Not better, not worse, just different.

  2. This is exactly the environment where DJI's optical active-track fails. There are too many cyclist to have it follow close, and too many trees to keep you in view. What you need is GPS follow-me. Which you will only have if your model is compatible with Litchi or Maven. You can then put the drone at any distance or height away from all hazards, and in front or next to you so you can watch what it is doing.
Of course if you tie the controller to your handlebar you can fly it manually with the sticks also. But it won't be easy to get smooth shots.
Why DJI refuses to give their consumers GPS follow-me I have no idea. A good drone should have both features as they are very different. Funny enough the DJI Inspire has GPS follow-me. But how to put that in your pocket?

Your drone shots are great though in this clear blue sky and clouds weather. Such a shame they make it more difficult every year with new regulations. It won't stop the military or huge Amazon drones.

  3. Another very enjoyable episode of your journey through Europe. I am familiar with the Moselle Valley from a few cycling trips I have made along the Moselle. One question: do you have a drone with you on your trip to capture these beautiful aerial views?

  4. In my view one of the best river valleys to ride in my corner of Germany. I have done it by bike, by trike, and by velomobile. My last three times were by velomobile and not on the Radweg but on the roads, which is quite alright on a normal weekday. By velomobile it is still schnick but also amazingly fast; from Zell to Koblenz takes just a couple of hours.

  5. Really enjoyed this part of the ride, very scenic. Loved the fluffy white swans, they almost made a heart shape😊

  6. I love your videos. They are as much travelogue as they are bike adventures. It's amazing how much you see off of the "beaten path!"

  7. I enjoyed “riding “ with you on my indoor bike while I was watching you ride. The excellent photography makes me feel like I’m with you.
