In this episode 13 of Sovev, we meet Alejandro with a deep obsession for 90s cycling culture.

From a 1993 KLEIN Rascal built with Shimano XTR components to a neo-vintage 1995 Colnago C40 in iconic Lampre colors, Alejandro walks us through a collection that blends history, research, and pure love for bikes.

Most of his bikes are from the 90s — a decade he believes represents one of the most exciting eras in cycling. Through old forums, deep YouTube research, and countless hours of digging, he carefully sources original parts to keep his builds as period-correct as possible.

We also dive into his cycling fashion philosophy — comfort first, vintage always. From 90s ACG shoes to old Volvo Cannondale jerseys, his style reflects the same mindset as his bikes: expressive, nostalgic, and functional.

This episode captures the spirit of neo-vintage cycling in New York — where street culture meets classic racing heritage.

  1. 8:33 If he wants to reduce the weight on the Colnago bike he should definitely exchange the fork. The Colnago Flash Fork is a mid-tier carbon fork. It has steel and aluminium parts (CroMo steel steerer tube, aluminium fork crown, carbon fibre fork blades and aluminium drop-outs). The top-tier Colnago carbon fork of that time would be the Star Fork (monocoque carbon body, incl. the steerer tube).

  2. Been watching a lot of the old school bike messenger documentaries. I think you would do great at making a newer version of the bike culture.
