It seems to me we spend our younger years building the layers required to meet our ambitions and our later years stripping those layers back to the core of what time has revealed to be important and enriching. Charente seems like a lovely reward for all your hard work, both literal and aspirational. ❤️
You certainly know how to make it seem irresistible! It is beautiful there, for sure, and I love the old towns and landscape. Just a bit too toasty for me in summer, which is why I'm in Normandie. Beautiful video, thanks for making it!
We love your videos because la Chapelle was our village for 22 years. Now live Lawrence and Simon in our house.
Have a good time there in your lovely home.
John and Ada ❤❤

Hey there, you've been missed 🙂 Lovely, beautiful Charente! We have recently moved from Denmark to the Haute-Garonne. We also are privileged enough to have found a warm and sunny microclimate. I don't think we have been happier 🙂
Brings back so many memories from traveling there many years ago. Such a beautiful region. ⚜️
Thanks for the nice comment about our deparments Charente and Charente Maritime- bravo au pianiste 👏🏻
A beautiful area. Thank you for sharing!! ❤
That was lovely! Beautiful videography, narration and music… the sure, steady pace reflects the Charente itself.
Nice to see you back.
What an absolutely stunning vlog. Hope you find the time to share more. I got the general impression previously Charente was fairly flat, but you've showcased much beauty. Hope you can find a way to make it a more permanent home. 😌
Lovely video. When I move to France in mid 2026, we will have to get together and make beautiful music together. I am retiring after 38 years of being a music teacher in Australia. Stu

Thanks for sharing this beautiful views of your village ❤️ As a Greek l am amazed how mediterranean looks this part of France as you said.
As French, I appreciate the presentation of the Charente you done 😊❤
Hello! Wonderful tribute to my region. Even though I live on the Atlantic coast, in Charente-Maritime, I spent a year inland, in Charente, and I'm very familiar with the landscapes you describe so well in this video. It's a corner of France that's still too little known to foreigners who come to visit; and I hope this video will help to make visitors want to discover it, because it's full of wonderful surprises, if only for its incomparable quality of life, because it's far enough away from the main roads without being lost in the middle of nowhere. But also for its wonderful climate and its rich heritage, which has little to envy the more southerly regions, minus the disadvantages. So thank you very much.
Bonjour et merci pour votre superbe vidéo !
Shhhh…giving too much away here
Hiya, We also live in the French countryside, in the Loiret.. Just found your channel and subbed. Nice job! It's definitely a peaceful lifestyle! And beautiful… We used to live in the Paris region for so many years…
Richard the Lionheart sacked Angouleme city ,capturing 300 knights and 40 thousand men at arms
Thank you for the videos of your journey and experience of the Charente region. I am flying out 1st November to view a Mill near Verteuil-sur-Charente. We love the property but was concerned we didn't know the region at all. This has really helped us get an initial idea of what to expect. looking forwards to seeing the area in person and hope the property lives up to our expectations. See you out there soon possibly. 🙂
I would like to know if I have any long lost GAREAU family relatives that live in that part of France today. I am from the United States
