Hey dudes! Tax season is here and I got a couple bucks for gear. I have $500 (I can go over that amount if necessary) to play with and my plans were to (hopefully) buy a dedicated head unit, a tent and a rear rack. For the head unit I think I might go with the Coros Dura Solar. ($250) I've heard nothing but good things. If you have experience with one, please share! I've been looking at the T rack or an OMM (~$130?) for my rear rack. Ideally something minimalist that can carry 30ish lb and has side attachment points. (Advice or rack suggestions welcome!)
The tent decision is where I'm stuck. After my trip last year I realized I needed a larger tent. I used a 1p tent that weighed a lil over 5lb (I'm 6'0" 200 lbs) and I felt like I was in a coffin. My vestibule was massive, but didn't have much space in the actual tent. Also when packed down, it was on the large side as you can see. So 2p is a must and Ideally something around 2-4 lbs with a small packing size would be great. I've been considering the Lanshan 2, the cloud up pro, the featherstone 2p, the mongar and a handful of others. And if possible, nothing in bright colors simply in case I needed to stealth camp somewhere. (not a deal breaker tho) I'd appreciate any suggestions you guys have. 🤘
