  1. Really high. I guess you have no choice. If I imagine a third big ring then I guess it’s okay.

  2. Friction front is the only way I run it. Especially the newer shimano style index shifters that does the trimming. It’s just friction with extra steps.

  3. Really dope looking setup, but the derailleur is mounted way too high. There should be a gap of just a few mm between the outer plate and the big ring.

    Edit: I just saw that the derailleur will interfere with the chainstay if it’s mounted lower. Seem like these old derailleurs weren’t designed for smaller chainrings (that you want for touring, obviously).

    It would work even better if it were properly sized and mounted correctly.

  5. I like that WI updated the crankset so you could get silver rings and different color bolts.

    Yeah, it’d be worth sourcing a 2x FD which could sit closer to the rings without hitting the stays. Those are some really long chainstays too!
