  1. If you post a video of yourself breaking the rules, you’re basically incriminating yourself. If you’re just an ordinary person, it might not be a big deal since not many people will see it. But if you’re an influencer, it’s definitely going to get some people's attention.

  2. Ouch. I understand giving him a fine – he did technically break that rule (and filmed it), but he also got off when he realized that (also filmed the fix!). Taking park rights from him seems harsh. Better ways to spend resources to keep the park safe.

  3. Thank you California for your insanity! I watch the Vegan Cyclist and feel very bad for him. Had he been an illegal alien; VC cyclist would never have been prosecuted!☹️

  4. What makes it even more absurd is that you can shoplift in California with impunity as long as it’s less than $980 in value. It’s absolutely absurd! Meanwhile teens are robbing stores and posting it all on social media and the police don’t even bat an eye. 🤦🏻‍♂️

  5. For non-American viewers, anything you say or this case show, can and WILL be used against you in a court of law. It doesn't matter what the context was originally. This is stupid American law and one reason why I don't live there anymore.

  6. It's not the state of California that would have prosecuted him. It's the federal government as Yosemite is run by the National Park Service. If you've ever been there, you'll know that the place can be very overrun with people, so there are rules to try to cap the number of people in the park. It's not the riding on a walking path that got him in trouble. It's how he got there. The NPS is actually right in its case. That said, there is a better way it could have been handled. He could have volunteered (or the NPS could have asked him) to use his platform to discuss proper access and how to be a good user of National Parks.

  7. This is so ridiculous, the US injustice system in action. I am constantly disgusted by our system here. This should have been a warning, and the video should be shown as an example of the correct thing to do if you make the same mistake.

  8. The Park Service has gone after several YouTubers pretty harshly lately for videos that show illegal activity that was an honest mistake. I think the parks would be better served by having those people publish videos about what they did wrong and to avoid what they did instead of giving them a criminal record that can ruin their life.

  9. At a time when obesity and diabetes are rampant big brother finds yet another way to discourage someone getting fresh air and exercise, priceless! Oh and by the way, it’s the same big brother who wants to drill for oil on these “pristine” parklands.

  10. Yosemite is ran by the federal government, not California… if you’ve never been to Yosemite you wouldn’t understand why they went hard on him… 🤷🏽‍♂️

  11. Absolutely ridicolous. It's so nice to be able to ride everything in Finland. It's insane that a prosecutor would pursue jail time over such a minor thing. Or really pursue any legal action. What a waste of tax payer dollars.

  12. About a year ago in vc video he just started to criticize the feds about fires in his area but stopped midway. He started to say park service should maintain fire roads but stopped mid sentence. So don't even start to criticize these wacky green policies cause you'll be investigated. Zero tolerance, tow the line. Never criticize your ca or fed government or their green policies like never cut a tree.

  13. California is ridiculous. I left 30 years ago due to the oppressive government overreach on all personal freedoms. It wasn’t always that way. Born and raised in the Bay Area and it was one of the most beautiful and environmentally diverse places on earth. Politics and bureaucracy bloat has killed it. Sad.

  14. Is this the origin story of 'The Matador'? A former vegan who becomes a crypto trillionaire, buys a national park, razes the forest and turns it into the Northern hemisphere's largest cattle farm?
