I want to do a 5 day cycling trip 80-100km per day in France this summer for my bday :))
This Cinelli Superstar is my current roadie set up, do you think I could take her to France? Or would that be silly? Maybe with a frame bag and a saddle bag for a change of clothes and essentials? Stops along the way so no need for camping gear. I always do day rides on this bike and usually never have any bags on it, as I can fit all I need in my jersey pockets, so it feels strange to think about doing this but it would be more than doable right? Any bag recommendations that look slick?
Or should I use this as an excuse to get another bike maybe get a more casual setup like an endurance type of bike such as one of the early versions of the Trek Domane for example to do this trip? I feel like there would be attachment points for bags etc.. although it’s not a long trip but could make it more comfortable. I feel like a steel bike for long touring is a bit too extra as this is not a super long trip and I’m not currently thinking of camping but could be fun too idk.
Would love to hear your thoughts! What do you think?
