Hey everyone, thanks for all the feedback on WhenToRide a few days ago! I spent the last few days adding in all the features this sub asked for (to the best of my abilities).

Again, this is a 100% free, simple web app (no ads, no accounts) built by a regular cyclist because I wanted 1 view to show me the best times to ride. Not spam, just sharing a tool I built for myself and improved on with y'all.

What I’ve added based on your comments:

  • Regional Acclimatization: A huge point of feedback was that 42°F is "perfect" in Minnesota but "freezing" in Brazil. The scoring logic now "flexes" based on your local norms. It accounts for your seasonal average temp and what you’re actually used to riding in.
  • Extended Hourly Forecasts: You can now see the hourly conditions for the entire week. Just click on any day to expand its specific hourly forecast and plan ahead
  • Wind Direction Toggle: You can now toggle wind direction on the hourly view.
  • The "Invisible" Warnings: UV Index and AQI (now working in the EU/Australia) will appear if they are a concern—otherwise, they stay hidden to keep the UI clean.
  • Location Autofill: Automatically knows your city. If you want to search elsewhere, the city search is also improved.
  • Full PWA Support: Fixed/Improved "Add to Home Screen".
  • Sunrise/Sunset: These are now marked on the hourly timeline so you know exactly when the lights need to be on.
  • Global Data: Fixed some major data issues with Australia (looking at you, Adelaide).
  • Desktop Mode: Optimized the layout for larger screens.

The original features are all still there:

  • Temp & "Feels Like" (Heat Index / Wind Chill)
  • Wind Speed (MPH or KPH based on location)
  • Precipitation (IN or MM based on location)
  • Dew Point (The "humidity/misery" factor)
  • Active Weather Advisories

I’m having fun building this—give it a look and let me know if the new regional temperature scoring feels "right" for your area!
