Turned down a road that was not marked no outlet, then the way back was cut off by a train!
Was leisurely making my way to the morning and decided I wanted to take an alt route and this was the outcome. Luckily it was a fairly quick train and I had seen the train full on stop here before.
Clearly a setup for a carjacking but you’re on a bike so they left you alone.

Cut through the park, go south through the woods and back onto 9th?

Oh man, when I was in college I lived in a city of drawbridges and trains. On exam days I’d have to leave 30 minutes early in case a bridge went up on my way to class or some train stopped and had to back up by the waterfront and trap me there 🤣
I feel ya, OP!
ETA: in case you’re all wondering, that city was Seattle. I lived in West Seattle, and the lower level bridge you cross on a bike takes 20 minutes to open and close, because it’s a whiz-bang design that swings sideways instead of up. It won some kind of engineering award for the design, but I sure af didn’t appreciate how long I had to wait to get to class as it opened and closed!
