Spain to the UK – A 1500km Bike Ride – Portsmouth and Bilbao to Elorrio – Day One to Three
This is the first of a series of 15 short films made from the handlebars on a bike ride across France.
Starting in Portsmouth in April 2025 I take the ship to Bilbao, ride across the foothills of the Pyrenees, on to the coast and into France. Over the next 15 days I travel on La Vélodyssée, The Atlantic Cycling route, heading South to North. From Nantes I take a train to St Malo for the ferry back to the UK.
Covering around 100-110km a day on my fully loaded touring bike, visiting some of the key towns and villages on the way. Enjoying everything the weather has to offer in early Spring.

Hi , I rode that trip in 2022 but took a different route from Royan to the UK. I headed to Caen via the Velo Francette V43. I was lucky and had a bit better weather. Great video!
Oh, and I also have a love of the Renault 4. I had a Van version in the 70's, loved it!
I had planned to do similar May 2025 but was going to head up towards the Loire and Normandy after La Rochelle. Life got in the way unfortunately, going to view your 15 videos to see what I missed.
