Japan long term physical sim card for foreigners (more than 30 days)

As I plan to cycle Japan 3 months this year,

What is currently best way to handle physical sim card to last few months in Japan?

Sim cards are expensive in Japan on its own, plus I would like to be able to expend data after a month, not buy new (expensive) sim card each month.

I saw this but its not clear exactly:

Only data sim offer 31 days max (and still costs 8000yen!)

The other option shows:

Can this be applied to foreigners?

Seems a bit cheaper (4000yen for 30 gb) if it can be extended after a month.
