In this episode, I set off on an adventure through Pirin’s Macedonia, exploring some of the most famous historical and cultural landmarks in the Southwestern part of Bulgaria. From revolutionary heroes to ancient monasteries and Roman ruins, this trip is packed with history, stunning architecture, and breathtaking views!

1️⃣ Museum of Gotse Delchev – A beautifully preserved museum dedicated to one of Bulgaria’s greatest revolutionaries. The exhibition spans a long period of history, with a special hall honoring Gotse Delchev and his legacy.
2️⃣ Rozhen Monastery – Nestled on a small peak near the Melnik Earth Pyramids, this monastery offers not only stunning views but also beautifully preserved frescoes and a tranquil atmosphere.⛪
3️⃣ Kordopulov’s House, Melnik – Once home to a wealthy wine-producing family, this mansion is famous for its sprawling cellars where wine was aged to perfection. Interestingly, one of Bulgaria’s most popular TV shows was filmed here! 🍷
4️⃣ Fortress of Tsar Samuil – A strategic military complex from the time of Tsar Samuil, featuring reconstructed shelters (Zemlyanka) used by soldiers. A place where history comes alive! ⚔️
5️⃣ Rupite – A spiritual sanctuary built in honor of the famous Bulgarian prophet Baba Vanga. This peaceful complex includes a mineral spring, a temple, and a striking stone cross, making it one of Bulgaria’s most unique and mystical destinations.
6️⃣ Episcopal Basilica, Sandanski – An impressive Roman-era basilica with well-preserved walls, mosaics, and even the original bishop’s throne, offering a glimpse into Bulgaria’s ancient past. 🏛️
