I’m putting Transmission on my Rocky Mountain Blizzard and struggling with the cranks.

It had Race Face Aeffect cranks, and I assumed I needed to get SRAM cranks, so got a GX Fat 5 cranks.

The problem is that the Aeffects are wider than the GX crank, and when the GX is installed it’s only a few mm of clearance from the chainstays (too close for an all weather bike).

Is there a different SRAM crank to get?

Or should I stick with the Aeffects and will a wolftooth drop stop B chainring work?

  1. You can get Cinch direct mount Drop Stop chain rings for Raceface cranks from Wolftooth. Another option is a Wolftooth Cinch camo spider, which can use their Drop Stop Camo chain rings. Be sure to use the correct offset for your required chain line.

  2. I’m gonna say you should be OK. With the transmission being for UDH, you have a zero offset for the chainline, whereas there is a 3mm offset for non UDH derailleurs. I could be talkin out my butt, but (double but?) I think this is the case here
