Oh…. happens to the best of us! Rookie mistake leaving the Co2 at home, have you tried the vittoria tyre liners? Have ridden on a slowly deflating tyre for awhile with them, have them on all my bikes

  2. A long distance RTB for me means at least a big sandwich and a couple of train beers followed by an evening on the sofa.

    They can’t all be zingers

  3. Glad you had public transport close! You’ll be back at it soon.

I got really lucky once. Went to Wales coed y brenin. Took what felt like infinite spares….and left them in my van. Got a puncture at the furthest point from the van, and all I had was some scabs which luckily worked. Lesson learnt and I make sure I double check on my spares now on a longer ride.

  4. at least you didn’t forget your mudguards.. i’ve seemingly ”forgotten” to put them on my bike for the last few years

  5. Last summer I was trying to streamline what I was carrying and lighten my load a little, and I thought, “I don’t need to bring TWO spare tubes. What are the chances I get two flat tires?”

Turns out if you just changed your wheel set and your tubes are much narrower than your tires, the chances are in fact quite high. Had to lock my bike behind a little beach town restaurant and Uber back to my car.
